Fiji favourite to start $30 million upgrade

The Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, a favourite Accor Vacation Club's Accor Hotels Select Elite destination, is set to undergo a $30 million refurbishment program. It will be the most extensive update of the resort since it first opened its doors back on deluxe Denarau Island in 2005. Expected to commence within the next few months, Sofitel aims to refurbish its entire hotel room inventory, with some fresh food and beverage concepts to keep things interesting too! Its 296 beach facing rooms will be totally renovated  with a true luxury focus to better appeal to well-travelled and return guests. Not to be excluded, the stunning Waitui Beach Club – which launched just over three years ago – will also be included in the elegant upgrade. Offering a unique, adults-only concept designed to combine innate French elegance with exotic ambiance of island spirit, the Waitui Beach Club features a 25m lap pool, swim up bar, private poolside cabanas and a gymnasium. At the other end of the spectrum, the resort’s littlest guests can expect to enjoy a transformed ‘kids club’ once the renovation is complete. The current standard club is already one of the main attractions for family guests, but is expected to go above and beyond. Younger guests will be treated to more beach experiences, plus multiple play zones to meet the diverse needs of children, from toddlers to the age of 12. Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa is famous for its long, lazy beachfront location, swaying palm trees and romantic sunsets. With a prime address on Denarau Island just 20 minutes drive from the Nadi International Airport, the resort is an integrated destination built across 26-acres of lush garden paradise with views extending across Nadi Bay.
