A free outdoor community concert held at the Bluewater Quay Park, Mackay. Pipe bands, highland dancers, Celtic Harpist, Piping MaD Rock band and much more. From 1.30pm - 5pm. Massed bands march across the Forgan Bridge at 2pm, the entertainment continues on the River Stage until dusk. Food vendors on site including haggis and other Scottish biadh. Bring a fold up chair or picnic blanket and enjoy an afternoon of Scottish music, song and dance. The fun continues at the Fling Afterparty Ceilidh from 6pm at Goosies Sport and Recreation Club, 74 Malcomson Street, North Mackay.

Speeding Motorcycles under open tropical skies, at Grasstree Beach, 35 minutes south of Mackay, Central Queensland, first ran in the region back in 1927. This iconic event is and the only competitive beach motorcycle race in Australia, one of only several in the world. The race attracts around 350 riders, from all around Australia and draws about 5000 spectators to the event.
