My Grandma Ben is a sustainably focused café, bar and workshop space. They aim to nourish community engagement through their Bowden café and hands-on pickling, preserving and fermenting workshops.
Their veggie-focused menu celebrates the seasons, champions local producers and growers, and is jam-packed with their house-made pickles, preserves and ferments. And if you must ask, Grandma Ben was indeed a real person - their founder Jessie’s grandma, in fact. Ben was a hybrid of Betty and Gran, and the name stuck firm and it was passed on to future grandchildren.
Here at My Grandma Ben, they truly believe that looking back to how their elders lived is the best way to move forward. They want to bring back the gratitude when enjoying food and where it came from and the mindfulness around the consumption of goods.
