The Tinklers Wines family has been in the Hunter Valley for over 100 years, they use their knowledge and skills passed down through their family, to bring you premium quality wines and produce.
Usher Gordon formed a partnership with his two sons Usher William and Ian Geoffrey, and over the years has planted 35 hectares of vines on selected sites on their Pokolbin properties. They follow conservation farming practices to preserve their soils and maintain environmental quality. In 2009, Ian Tinkler was awarded the Hunter Valley Viticulturalist of the Year, an award that recognises the vineyards as having reached iconic status under the care of the nominee; research and development are undertaken to improve quality, and work which has resulted in better practises for the Hunter Valley as a whole.
In 1996 they began to take exclusive selections from their crop to produce small batches of single-vineyard wines. Their Winemaker, Usher John, has achieved many accolades within the wine industry. Selected as a Len Evans Tutorial Scholar (2007), won the Wine Society Young Winemaker of the Year (2007), the Hunter Valley Rising Star of the Year (2008) and has been a finalist for the Hunter Valley Winemaker of the Year (2009/11/12).
