The section of South Terrace from the corner of Bannister Street to Parry Street in Fremantle is renowned as the Cappuccino Strip for the many cafés and resident baristas that prepare an almost unending variety of coffees.
It is the home of alfresco dining in Western Australia and the street is lined with restaurants, pubs and breweries including the famous Sail and Anchor.
At night and especially on the weekends, the Cappuccino Strip is the centre of Fremantle's entertainment precinct with hotels and clubs offering cabaret, comedy and live music until the early hours. If you have the energy, by the time you leave the clubs, the cafés will be open for a morning coffee.
At the northern end of the strip is the historic Fremantle Markets featuring more than 150 stalls offering fresh produce, tasty local treats, jewellery, souvenirs, fashion and homewares.
The Cappuccino Strip is a five-minute walk from Fremantle Train station.
