Inspired by the Murray River, local street artist, Kade Sarte worked with local high school students to create the Memorial Plaza Interactive murals, just off Sanger Street in Corowa.
An excited little echidna peaks over a flowerbed, next to his friend the cheeky Brush-tail Possum with his pointed face and pink nose. A Golden Whistler and the Red-Capped Robin appear to be flying down to land in the plaza. A beautiful old Murray River Turtle slowly climbs a log as a Painted Lady Butterfly flickers on his nose, while a spirited big-eyed Sloane’s Froglet stares on from the other side of the door.
Visitors can take a photo holding the line that landed a giant Murray Cod or become a Dainty Swallowtail and a smaller Painted Lady.
Memorial Plaza features cafe-style and benches seating, public Wi-Fi, a community notice board, and a drinking fountain.
