The Explorers Bike Ride is a multi-day ride which follows in the footsteps of the explorers Hume and Hovell from Albury to Werribee. 2024 is the bicentenary year of the Expedition that explored a route from Sydney to Port Phillip along which squatters later followed to settle Victoria.
The Explorers Bike Ride 2024 is a 650-kilometre multi-day tour through Victoria following the line of the 1924 Hume and Hovell Monuments. The ride will visit 29 of the monuments and follow back-country gravel roads and four-wheel drive tracks, together with sections of four rail trails, as well as the many bike paths of Melbourne.
Divided into eight stages, the route can be ridden solo or in small groups, as an epic self-supported adventure ride. For time-poor cyclists, all stages over several rides can be an option. Limited support could be available.
