‘The Goods Shed’ Craft Beer Cafe (situated in the old Railway Precinct) was built in the 1870’s and originally provided the region with a transport hub to move 'goods' between Melbourne and Sydney.
From fear of derelict, after the railway station was relocated out of the city centre in the late 2000’s, two local lads saw an opportunity to convert the beautiful old building into a thriving, modern-day bar and restaurant.
Upon entering the shed you will notice the history has been subtly included in the up-cycled furniture and bar made from Redgum sleepers and railway tracks. With 16 craft beer taps, an extensive bottle range, and a locally-focused wine list, The Goods Shed showcases the best of the ‘little guys’ by supporting small and independent businesses.
So whether you are looking for a mouthwatering meal off the ever-changing menu headlined by share plates and traditional-style pizzas, wanting to sample a tasting paddle of local and national brews, share a bottle from the regional wine list, or even just wandering in to check out the cheeky toilet signs (guaranteed to put a smile on your face), The Goods Shed is a must during your visit to the border.
There's also a brilliant take-away menu available which includes the beer.
