The Redland City Big Band is one of five ensembles within the Redland City Bands organization, which has been a cherished part of the community for forty years. Directed by Dr. David Salisbury, the Big Band features musicians of all ages, ranging from teens to those in their eighties.
The band currently boasting of 21 members recently took part in the Brisbane Jazz Club Big Band Festival and also perform at events such as dances, park play-outs, senior residences, and jazz festivals across the Brisbane area.
This talented group will perform a mix of Swing, Latin, and Popular music from the 1930s to the 1960s in their Stage Door Sessions concert. You can look forward to spirited rendition of classics like, Little Brown Jug and St. Louis Blues, alongside popular songs such as The Look of Love and Free Man in Paris.
This performance is part of a new Stage Door Session series on the Concert Hall stage, where you will be up close to all the action. You also enter the performance through the Stage Door rather than the main entrance, giving you a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse of RPAC. This intimate series has limited places, so secure your place early to avoid missing out!
