The Come Alive Festival involves students from secondary schools in the ACT visiting the National Library or the National Portrait Gallery; selecting a character, object or event; and devising their own performance piece in response to the items in the national collection. Conceived by drama teacher Peter Wilkins, the festival, now in its 15th year, picks up on the rich resources in Canberra's national collections.
Presented as part of the Mill Theatre Co-Production Series, a program that provides an avenue for creatives to present their work in the Mill Theatre space.
