Sunday Session launching the Microforest Collective
The Microforest Collective, a newly established not-for-profit organisation, is proud to announce its official launch, aimed at empowering local community leaders to transform under-utilised green spaces into thriving microforests. The Collective will celebrate this milestone with a launch event in the picturesque Watson Microforest, welcoming families and supporters to enjoy live music, food trucks, and local artist stalls.
The event will take place at the Watson Microforest, featuring live music from Canberra favourites, Pete Cashew and Stella's Way, food trucks, artist stalls and more. Tickets are free, but donations are encouraged to help cover costs, with all proceeds going to support The Microforest Collective’s future projects.
About The Microforest Collective:
Founded by Edwina Robinson, Mitch Porteous, Liz Adcock, and Purdie Bowden, The Microforest Collective is dedicated to empowering communities to create microforests that cool local climates, enhance biodiversity, and build connections between people and nature. The organisation builds on the successful pilot projects led by The Climate Factory and seeks to scale this impact across Australia. It will provide seed funding, resources, and connections to bring urban microforests to life.
The Microforest Collective is a group of SEEChange (Society Environment Economy).
