Each year nearly 20,000 migratory shorebirds visit the Pumicestone Passage.
The passage is an essential rest stop on their 20,000 kilometre round trip between Australia and their breeding grounds in the Arctic Circle.
To survive their journey, shorebirds need to rest and refuel. This is when they can face some of their biggest challenges.
'Taking Flight' is an interactive exhibition for the whole family. Have fun and be amazed as you enter the extraordinary world of migratory shorebirds.
The museum is open Wednesday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
