Accor Vacation Club’s Sebel Creswick Forest Resort Unveils Stunning $2 Million Refurbishment

Creswick, Victoria July 15 – The Sebel Creswick Forest Resort has undergone an extensive refurbishment project, representing a significant investment of close to AUD$2 million. This comprehensive renovation, which began in January this year, includes the transformation of 18 two-bedroom villas and substantial external ground works, ensuring a renewed and enhanced guest experience.

Situated in Hepburn Shire, 20 minutes from Daylesford, the resort places an emphasis on sustainability and features mineral springs, spas and wineries nearby. The Sebel Creswick Forest Resort offers a serene escape with stylish accommodations and amenities.

It is one of 24 resorts in Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia that make up Accor Vacation Club, one of the region’s leading vacation clubs serving nearly 30,000 members.

The refurbishment's "Contemporary Country" theme reflects the local environment and regional history through neutral tones and stone textures. With interiors by Mel Porter Design, the renovation features unique elements such as a feature stone fireplace and a living room batten wall, seamlessly blending contemporary style with country charm.

Fresh flooring and carpets have been laid and the addition of new furniture, including a day bed, lounge with a sofa bed and striking artwork featuring photography of Australian landscapes enhance the overall comfort and style of each villa.

The walls and ceilings have been refreshed with fresh paint throughout, and new white shutters, window curtains, and sheers have been installed. The dining area now boasts built-in banquet seating, and the kitchens have been upgraded with new joinery, appliances, bench stools, and pendant lighting.

Outdoor spaces have not been overlooked, with new bench seating and tables on rear patios. Balconies also have new furniture.

The resort's commitment to sustainability is evident through several initiatives. All outgoing furniture, fittings, and appliances were donated to The Homeless Relocation Scheme by Uniting Care in Ballarat. Items unsuitable for donation were recycled where possible, including metal products, packaging, and wood. Room compendiums have been transitioned to a digital format, and filtered water mixers have been installed in kitchens promoting the avoidance of single use plastic bottles. New dishwashers and mixers with a WELS rating of 5 stars have been introduced, and reclaimed timber has been used for living room shelving.

The project provided employment for over 45 local tradespeople from Creswick and surrounding areas, including Ballarat. Local businesses such as Homestead Carpet Warehouse and Ballarat Heating Centre supplied key materials, while Rohan Nicol Building, a local contractor, led the

construction, employing local electricians, plumbers, demolition workers, plasterers, tilers, painters, cabinet makers, stone masons, cleaners, and glaziers.
