The Far North Queensland Aviation Museum’s is a 100% volunteer-run organisation with a mission to preserve our local aviation history and artefacts, inspire using interactive and captivating world class displays, educate using varied learning experiences for the young & old and restore aircraft, engines, history and other aviation related history & artefacts.
Since 2018, the organisation has been involved with the creation of three public murals, museum information displays, acquisition of WW2 aircraft and artefacts, building infrastructure projects to house history and restoration projects, tell history stories at local aviation and history events, involving youth and aviation engineering students with restoration, open day flying events, celebrating milestones such as the Mareeba airport 80th anniversary through the creation of a short film & increasing local volunteering opportunities.
