Reopened in 2022 having undergone a two-year restoration and conservation process, this beloved heritage space welcomes the community and continues its more than 90-year role as a place for people to gather, connect and create.
The arts and cultural hub includes a gallery, agile cultural spaces, theatre and box office, pottery studio, two relaxed eateries, as well as toilets, showers and change spaces for beachgoers. Since the renovation, the Pavilion and its patrons have also benefited from sustainable upgrades, reinvigorated landscaped courtyards, and a grand, new northern entrance.
Visitors to the space can enjoy new exterior wall art that depicts Bondi life, as well as some old murals that have been uncovered and restored. There’s also a Bondi Story Room, which tells the true-life stories of locals and their history, and the Pavilion regularly hosts exhibitions, talks, tours and workshops, such as the Dharawal language workshop that teaches the language and culture of the local Indigenous culture.
