Recapturing the convivial spirit of Sydney’s formative years, The Doss House is an intimate, heritage underground bar with a stylish vintage interior and an impressive line-up of whiskies, spirits and cocktails.
Located in The Rocks, the city’s oldest suburb, the building was built in the 1840s and has quite the fascinating history – being home to a bootmaker, a boarding house, doctor’s surgery and opium den in past lives. The original sandstone walls, spacious terrace and original fireplaces also give the venue an old-world feel.
Separated into four unique spaces – The Boot Maker’s (a cosy room with Chesterfield seating around a fireplace), Unwins Stories (an area for enjoying live music and entertainment), The Sailor’s Garden (an outdoor terrace with high-top seating) and Un Quoy’s Den (a private room that can be booked out for events) – you can find the perfect spot for a romantic date, a casual lunch or dinner with friends, or a family get together.
