Social connection and communal play is important for new parents, new grandparents and babies. Art Babies is a time to connect in creativity with your baby, and for grandparents to join the fun and connection with their grandchildren and adult children. Join Art Therapist Tanis Douglas for a gentle session of exploration and learning in Heide’s sculpture park, and purposeful, directed activity in the gallery where you learn about being cultural teachers and co-learners and finding space for your own mindfulness and cultural engagement. Let your baby join in sensory play on the heart garden rug as you all gather for meaningful story time, puppets and songs.
After your session, make sure to head over to Heide Kitchen to take advantage of their special deal for program attendees – $8 for a coffee and any of their delicious cakes!
Please note: Art Babies is not suitable for babies who are now walking or very active crawlers. Pre-school children from one year can attend Heide Gallery Kids with Tanis Douglas on Friday at 10 am. As some activities will include viewing works in the outdoor sculpture plaza, as well as gallery viewing and play, please dress your baby suitably for the weather.
