Hat Rock Contemporary is proud to announce its upcoming exhibition entitled ‘Plein Air – Works by Amanda Penrose Hart’.
Brisbane born (1963) artist Amanda Penrose Hart is a en plein air painter. Penrose Hart graduated from Queensland College of Art in 1983 with a Diploma of Fine Art, and Griffith University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Visual Arts.
Amanda was the winner of the 2024 Calleen Art Award, the Clayton Utz Award in 2019 and the Gallipoli Art Prize in 2017. Amanda has also been a finalist in the JADA Drawing Prize 2022, The Dobell Drawing Prize 2021, The Doug Moran Portrait Prize 2022, The Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize and the Portia Geach Memorial Award.
Penrose Hart has featured in numerous selective group exhibitions, often following artist trips or artist-run projects such as Your Friend the Enemy, Gallipoli and Salient: Contemporary artists at the Western Front (both commemorative exhibitions of the Great War).
Collections include the Australian National Maritime Museum, Australian Club, Sydney and Melbourne, Australian National University, Macquarie Bank, Parliament House, Canberra, NSW Bar Association, Anzac Memorial Hyde Park and numerous regional galleries across Australia.
Amanda lives and works in Sofala, NSW.
