Allta is a special experience. The restaurant spans only 12 seats, all around a stone bar curved in a U shape, and delivers just one sitting per night – an artistic 15-course degustation that delves into the diversity of the Korean cuisine. Behind the menu is Jun-su Chang, the former executive chef of Jungsik, a two Michelin-starred restaurant in South Korea. Chang’s mission is to elevate the perception and understanding of Korea’s cuisine and he does that by presenting flavours and visuals that go far beyond bulgogi, barbecue and bibimbap. Pair that with matching teas, wines or a mix of both, and a service style that’s more chatty and friendly than the “sir-madame” service of set menu restaurants of the past.
