Lesmurdie Falls located in the Lesmurdie Falls National Park in the hills east of Perth, are one of the more spectacular waterfalls on the Darling Range escarpment. Commencing at the top, this moderate two kilometre walk circuit meanders down to the base of the falls, up close to the lush vegetation, and is quite unique for the Perth area.
This Top Trail starts on the top of the falls where Lesmurdie book tumbles over the Darling Range Escarpment. Walking down the hill, it follows the brook until it reaches a bridge at the top of the falls. Stand at the top and look over the fall of water.
The trail continues down to the picnic area at the base of the hills. From here there is a trail that leads to the base of the falls. This is more like a waterfall in New Zealand than in Perth. The lush vegetation grows where the bubbling brook hits the base of the waterfall.
The climb up the hill to return to the car park is steep but short. Enjoy morning tea or lunch in the near by Kalamunda Village.
