The Windan Bridge Loop is an easy 3 kilometre bike trail located on the banks of the beautiful Swan River in the centre of Perth, Western Australia. The Top Trail takes riders past Herrison Island, the Burswood golf course, East Perth with its galleries, public art and cafes and the eastern side of the central business district.
Bikes can be hired on the river foreshore near the Causeway, so if you have more energy add on the city loop to the Narrows Bridge or go upstream to Garrett Road Bridge.
Featuring diverse wildlife from birds and fish to river dolphins and even the odd bull shark, the river is an integral part of Perth’s identity. Ranging from the wide estuary in and around the city, to the narrower bush lined river upstream, it is possible to cycle from the river mouth in Fremantle to the upper reaches in the Swan Valley.
The Windan Bridge Loop is just one of 12 riding routes around the river. Most bike paths are dual use so be considerate of walkers and please ring your bell.
